British Birds Rarities Committee

The BBRC is the official adjudicator of rare bird records in Britain. Its main function is to apply uniform adjudication standards to claimed records of rare birds in the United Kingdom, excluding Northern Ireland. Records at sea within the UK Economic Exclusion Zone of 200 nautical miles or midpoint between the UK and any neighbouring country are also considered.

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

With over a million members, including nearly 150,000 youth members this is the largest conservation organisation devoted to birds. The charity manages 200 nature reserves covering 130,000 hectares and are home to 80% of the rarest or most threatened bird species.
